Re: Hardenberg/Turnage Video

Matthew,

"From the Wreckage" is a gorgeous piece of music, isn't it? I honestly believe that we're in the midst of a Golden Age of the trumpet concerto genre, not seen since the 18th century. . .

Thanks for posting this and see you soon up north,
EC

Luis M. Araya has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Re: Hardenberg/Turnage Video

He reminds me a very young Maurice Andre... with so a mature musicianship.

Re: Hardenberg/Turnage Video

Luis and others,

Hakan's more than wonderful, and Esa-Pekka's a terrific conductor as well, but the piece is the star here (and trust me when I say that both would be the first to agree) (well, maybe not E-PS).

Cheers,
EC

Re: Hardenberg/Turnage Video

Thanks, I'm out of town in South Carolina, so I'm out of touch. I'll be back in Cincinnati tomorrow so assuming my family doesn't have me scheduled, I'll be there.
