![]() | Herb Alpert Strikes Again! TMers, I almost forgot to post this wonderful news that was announced yesterday. The majority of income generated by this generous endowment will be used for scholarships. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment...,3668017.story Tasting honey, EC |

| Re: Herb Alpert Strikes Again! I think that Mr. Alpert sounds like a great guy. You have got to admire someone who has been sucessfull in several different careers, apparently is a good guy, and is willing to help support music education. If you've been thinking about sending a "thankyou" note to his organization, here is the mailing address: THE HERB ALPERT FOUNDATION 1414 6TH ST Santa Monica, CA 90401-2510 -rob |

| Re: Herb Alpert Strikes Again! I don't think we will be seeing Simon Cowel make this type of endowment or contribution to American music education. Many thank you's to Herb and his wife. |

| Re: Herb Alpert Strikes Again! Very cool. When I said "If you were thinking of sending a thankyou note", I didn't mean you, I meant other forum members. When someone makes a donation like this, it benefits us all whether or not we live anywhere near the place where the money will be used. It brings music education to the public's attention and encourages others to think about making their own contributions. -rob |

![]() | Re: Herb Alpert Strikes Again! Rob, Very true. Thanks for pointing this out, and if any of you know of a potential angel for Chosen Vale (happily, a tax-deductable contribution) I'll travel to them as well with a smile on my face. Best, EC (dreaming of high end, tuition-free, music education) |
