highest notes

Just curious to know what is the highest that a trumpeter would actually be required to play in any orchestral pieces that you know of? solos?

concert D (high E on Bb) seems to be a GENERAL ceiling. however a couple works push this a bit...

The highest note i've heard in a orchestral setting is Harlem by duke ellington which has this big concert double high b near the beginning.

The "Titan Symphony" by Bill Russo. Bernstein premiered with the NY Phil In 58. They had to call in Maynard for the third Mvt.

I have a copy of the trpt part for the Titan. It has written double D's that mean business! There are two recodrings of the Titan. One features Maynard with the NY Philly. The other features Buddy Brisbois with the CSO. The CSO recording is of poor qualtiy and doesn't do Brisbois justice. However, Maynard just hammers the the thing! It is truly astonishing. Yes, he completely out blows the whole orchestra, but it is entirely appropriate in the context of the movement. The Fox was seriously on when he played that piece!
