| Re: New Website I am not in Burgas (in fact just at the oposite side of the country) but in Vidin...but I feel somewhat bored...do we have a telepatic connection or you are just guessing?  By the way, I enjoyed quite a lot your notes on the utility trumpet audition (does utility means section position?) and your notes on the trumpet repertoire.

| Re: New Website Nick, I know where you are. I was once stuck/bored in Burgas trying to travel by train to Sofia and am just wistfully looking back. This was a 4th trumpet job, since filled, in the MSO. Utility usually means "be prepared to play anything". Many years ago a friend had "utility" written into his contract with the Israel Philharmonic. When I asked what this meant his reply was "anti aircraft". Best, EC |
