NewTrumpet: Chris Kallmyer

TMers,

For those of you within shouting distance, the latest in our series of NewTrumpet events will be presented by Chris Kallmyer, a fabulous trumpeter and artist, at CalArts' Roy O. Disney Music Hall tomorrow, March 4th at 8:00 PST including works by Giacinto Scelsi (Quattro Pezzi), Ryan Purchase (Opacity No. 1*), Andrew Tholl (I'll stop when I take my last breath**), some free improvisation by an interesting trio, and Chris' own on farming** for car horns, trombones, and percussion (which will take place outdoors in the parking lot)

*US premiere
** World premiere

If you enjoy incredibly hard trumpet music then once again this is the place to be.

If distance is a hard-to-overcome obsticle, the concert will be streamed online at 8:00 PST, 11:00 EST, etc. at http://music.calarts.edu/ROD.html (you will need QuckTime7 to view)

Best wishes and I hope to see a few of you there (or online),
EC

Any archival clips you or Chris might be able to send my way? I couldnt' catch it last night (having flown home from Seattle on the red-eye Monday night), but I'd love to hear how it went!

Best always,

SC
