Tried...

Ok--the consensus is in--nobody really cares about these posts about academe I`ve been making recently. Even the AIR has not commented.

And many of the responses have been designed to incite, rather than to enlite. And some have actually called my reporting of my personal life experiences--and with my name signed to it--troll behavior.

I think many out there, and what has always been a thought of mine, are quite frustrated in their lives with music and would rather ridicule rather than inform rationally as in essence--they really have nothing to say--and for most people, having nothing to say, and posting/reading on a site such as this where a lot of people have a lot to say, and have done, literally drives them to utter distraction.

I am truly sorry if I have offended anyone.

I can see from the user list that this site is most frequented by Americans. Fine. But when you live in a global setting, by design or by obligation, as is the case with me, one does not see the provincial myopic and sometimes truly sad desperation (quiet desperation-Walt Whitmann I believe.) that has become the western, and largely American mindset now descended upon America--in music and elsewhere.

I attempted something like this regarde (no, not a typo) academe a few years ago. There was a lively debate. Then the *troll* factor steped in and pretty much took down any edifing content and forced me to delete my posts/threads.

This time around, save a few kind souls, the *troll* factor was legion and the inquisitive factor absent.

So...tried...

Shameless Plug:

My friends have been pestering me (in a kind way) for years to release a CD to which I have stubbornly desisted. I:ve been in the music game my whole life and I`m not going to get rich or famous by putting out some post-tonal electronica jazz/post-tonal improvisation trumpet stuff.

But I am, now in Tokyo, and working hard on above said project. Lots of great players here. Lots of great horns are being made here (not Yamaha.)
So if you watch my My Space sites over the next months, I*ll be keeping you up to date on the progress.

I have decided that I will not charge money for this CD as it will amount to cents and just about everyone has the ability to, and has recorded a CD.

But I may put a nominal charge on it--perhaps 5-7 USD and contribute the money to a number of charities that are near and dear to my heart.

Best to everyone in there budding, active, observing, recreational careers.

You can find me over at Mr. Wise`s site whom I*ve bugged for years now!!

I remain,

Cordially,

Mike

Re: Tried...

When a member is predominantly preoccupied with themselves (count the "I"s in the original post), the intentions are pretty clear. Someone is looking for a fan club that is impressed with the past.

Mike,
three sentences worth of "meat" does not need to be turned into a short story.

Re: Tried...

Ok my homeboys, so here's the things. Our boy Rowuk is right on as usuals. When Huggy Daddy writes about Huggy I do want to make Huggy's intentions clear. And it's not about Huggy liking Academia or knowing about how to spell names of dead guys. Huggy only want to give love to those Huggy loves. Peepers like Mr. Michael Sachs (my favorite classical playa'), Mr. Andrew "Macalicious" McCandless, Mr. Louis "the Greatest" Armstrong, Mr. Tony "Kadmac" Kadlek, Mr. Dylan "Schweebles" Schwabb, and all the other fly trumpet pimps that are following the Huggy tradition and donning the Fur coat and fedora to play High C's till we puke....Zarathustra RULES!!!! Huggy knows that it's not all about Huggy. It's about all the other people that make Huggy who he is. Huggy is not promoting some agenda....just love and music and trumpet.....but I got my nine iron if I needs it. Huggy wants us all to get along...Rodney King, Never Forget! And most of all Huggy wants people to use good spelling and grammar. We're all human and make mistakes....except for Big Man...and Huggy's not interesting in criticizing others faults, but when you have an agenda and you spell like a toothless hillbilly who gets off watching Differ'nt Strokes re-runs and got his degree from a truck stop night school, then Huggy needs to say something. Not about you....but about Huggy.....Fo' Shizzle!

Love,
Huggy Daddy

p.s. Huggy only said "I" three times....no agenda hereI guess!
