I'd also love to see some. I'll definitely try to tune in to the Foresight concert.

Re: Upcoming Concerts

Sandy,

Good morning.

The concert in Montreal yesterday was very, very, good and we videotaped it. I'll see if it's possible to upload a few of the performances (particularly the Clarke, Takemitsu, and Gruber) onto youtube (?)

I'll let everyone know here if this happens.

Best,
EC

TMers,

I've just leared that our bass player has shut down for a bit with tendonitis and thus HALT must be cancelled. A pity as it's a great, great work that's rarely performed.

Stephanie Richards will perform Robert Erickson's fiendishly difficult KRYL instead. I hope you'll agree that it's a worthy substitution.

Cheers,
EC

Re: Upcoming Concerts

I'm not worthy to be on the same planet as someone who could substitute KRYL on less than 2 weeks notice!

Wish I could be at the concert - or even somewhere I could stream it. But no.... I'm stuck in a rehearsal (a pox upon the landlord!). If anyone can capture it for future listening, please let me know.

Re: Upcoming Concerts

Sandy,

She already has it in her repertoire. It's just a matter of a dustoff.

I'll have an audio recording afterwards. It won't do Anne LeBaron's (or Kagel's) piece(s) justice, however.

Best,
EC

Re: Upcoming Concerts

Is Stephanie Richards that girl that was the youngest kid at Lake Placid about ten years ago? I guess she would be around 25 or 26 now.

Re: Upcoming Concerts

Jordan,

I'm glad you remember. Step did her BM at Eastman with Jim Thompson and her MMus at McGill (with me). She's a first year MFA at CalArts now and I wouldn't dishonor her by trying to guess her age (always wrong in that department) (ask my wife).

Oh yes...she can really play.

Best,
EC

Re: Upcoming Concerts

That's great. I remember her as a sweet young woman, who was shy when it came to playing, but when she picked up her horn, she made an immediate and direct connection to the music. I distinctly remember a master class where she played the slow movement of the Neruda and the room just stopped.
