![]() | Woefully Absent TMers, Sorry to be mute this past week. I’ve been up to my neck in evaluating auditions at CalArts, preparing for a NASM Review, welcoming a wonderful Kiwi exchange student from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama named Bede Williams, a concert last night of new European music featuring Yan Maresz’ METALLICS for trumpet and electronics (Aaron Smith), Dan Rosenboom’s CD “Bloodier Mean Son” release concert tonight, classes, and lessons. Also two of the brass 5tets that I coach at McGill were chosen as finalists for the Quintet Fellowship at Aspen and one of them, Metamorphosen (with our own Mazzrick and Phillipe), won. Heady, rich, times and I’m limping home to New Hampshire (after a McGill trip) in a few days. Stay tuned and if there are any topics you would enjoy exploring together, please nominate them and I’ll get to them soon. Congrats to Tom Rolfs in Boston! Best, EC |
