Comeback from WI

Hi. Tom, 41, from Greenfield, WI. I play my grandfather's Buescher 400, or at least I will again when I get it back from Charlie Melk. I played in school from age 10 to 17, and then pretty much never touched it again. I recently pulled out the books and I'm working on seeing if I can play again. So far, so good, though it goes slowly.

I'm currently playing on a Bach 7C mouthpiece, though I plan to get a consulation from a GR mouthpieces rep here and then get what they recommend. Then it's exercises and more exercises!

If I can get to where I can play the exercises decently, then I'll see about playing in public somewhere with a band.

Tom

Welcome Tom,

A couple of years ago I did the same thing...

get in a community band right after you get your fundementals back. This did wonders for my sightreading, balance, musicianship and helped to accelerate my return.

You've found a great resource; don't be afraid to use it.

John

Stupid computer....ditto on all above, especially finding a community band, I made huge jumps in coming back when I started playing with a band. I waited I guess about a month and fell right in, now if I can find a support group for computer use :)
