USMC D&B Sop will become famous soon enough
Good day!

I retired form the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps in Washington, DC in 2001. Since then I have moved to Winchester, Virginia. I have played the trumpet for 35 years and currently play in the band at my church. The horn I play on is a King Tiempo that is nickel plated. It is 32 years old and I hope to upgrade sometime soon to a more professional horn.

I love the older jazz - Satchmo, Dizzy, Al Hirt... Doc Severinson is the man as far as I am concerned. He can play all styles of music and sound phenominal on all of them.

Remember, "If it isn't good, it isn't loud; if it isn't loud, it isn't good; and if it isn't good and loud, it isn't Drum Corps!!!

My motto: Get in the key and go!!!

I look forward to "meeting" some of you on the site and learning from all. Thanks and be blessed!!!

Welcome to TM, USMC D&B Sop! Loud is good, true, but quiet pays better!

Re: Good day!

Welcome to TM!!!
I retired from "the Presidents Own" in 1994, and later my son went to the Barracks as CO of the Silent Drill Platoon. We both treasure our friendships in D and B. I wonder if we know each other? I was very active in the staff club. I had my coffee there each AM. and something stronger at 1600!
