This is a great place to be!

I've only been playing the trumpet since about August of last year. I would have never guessed that there were so many people so enthusiastic about playing trumpet. It's a good instrument and I've found that there are things out there like this website solely devoted to trumpet.

I know I'll have a good time here, there's a lot to learn. Especially with so much knowledge specifically on trumpet in one place.

Hi Fredrick!

Tell us about yourself -- where you live, what kinds of music you like, etc. As you know, trumpet players are curious!

Re: This is a great place to be!

About the question of myself: My name is Michael, I have "Fredrick" as my user name because it's a bit more complicated than my actual name but simple to remember for me because there's a pretty funny story behind it. I won't go into great detail of the story, but I know a girl that's in 6th grade and when I met her I jokingly told her my name was Fredrick and she believed me. She's awfully gullible so she won't believe that my name's actually Michael!
I live out in the middle of nowhere, about 20 minutes north of Wooster, Ohio. I have no idea what type of music I would like, I don't listen to it much and don't play any music outside of the stuff I play in band at school. I'm a freshman at Triway and I play the french horn in band. I played trumpet for the marching band season and decided that it was a lot of fun to play. Since then I've been trying to get better at it, and I have a pretty good foundation to work with from playing french horn since 5th grade. I'm completely open to advice because I'm still learning how to play trumpet well.
