![]() | Greetings from Seattle Greetings from the fair city of Seattle, and pleased to be posting my first message here (if only to get rid of the reminder to do so!). My groups ~ Principal trumpet with Sammamish Symphony - www.sammamishsymphony.org - next concert a "Spooktacular" themed concert on October 28. Recently formed Sammamish Brass Quintet (looking forward to some holiday time gigs) Recently added to substitute list for Everett Symphony - The Everett Symphony Summertime music retreat in Walla Walla (2008 will be my 4th) - Midsummer Musical Retreat ... and a wonderful way to spend the first week in August.Been playing trumpet since 1965 (!) and more serious about it than ever. Equipment (an increasing collection... Ebay is a dangerous place!) ~ Bach Strad Bb - the ol' dependable, purchased in 1970 (early Elkhart years) from Manny's in NYC. Bach Strad C - 25S/238G with a wonderful tuning bell and incredible valve action, work by Kevin Powers of Custom Music, Detroit Kanstul Bb/A/G Piccolo - model ZKT1520, my most recent indulgence and an amazing horn. Bach Strad Eb/D - small bore 239 bell, fun where a high tight sound is desired. B&S Rotary Bb (pre-end of cold war) - fun for the German masters but not yet mastered. J.W. York Cornet Bb/A - built in 1908.Ambition ~ an orchestral chair in a sunny climate from which I can telecommute to my regular playing job while increasing my professional music making. Cheers! |

![]() | Welcome to the site. Vizzutti lives around Seattle, doesn't he? I've only visited once, but it seems to be a real nice place - a little on the gray side, but very nice. I'm thinking about taking my kids for a quick vacation sometime. That would also be my excuse to run down to Oregon to the Monette shop............:) |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Greetings from Seattle Welcome, Trumpeterswain! Those old B&S rotaries are pretty fun. You can work the first valve slide for tuning those nasty 13 and 123 combinations. Is B in the staff flat on yours too? I turned mine into a great C, and live in Seattle as well.
