Greetings from Tehran

My name is Reza,
I have been reading this forum for a while ,a great place with a lot of useful info, so i finally decided to register.

I just started playing trumpet about 3 months ago, (i guess i'm about 20 years late on that), but i truly love this instrument & i do practice alot.

I also play the Persian traditional drums(17yrs) and the Guitar(14yrs), I love Blues and Jazz ,especially Dixieland, Ragtime & swing.

I am currently studying in Tehran Conservatory of music, hoping to start studying composition in about 4 semesters.

well, i geuss that sums it up,

keep swingin'
Reza.

Salaam aleikum,

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay here. Now if you have any information to share about zoorkhaneh I would be most interested. Bet you didn't think we knew about that stuff!

Re: Greetings from Tehran

Thank you for the warm welcome everybody

Brian , yes i know about Zoorkhaneh , i'd be glad to answer any questions, i play Tombak which is a hand-drum and it also has a bigger version made of clay, used exclusively in the Zoorkhaneh.
