Jim57Sr will become famous soon enough
Hello!

Hello! I'm interested to read what others are doing and thinking. I'm 61, still playing trumpet, flugel, and some D and picc as needed. My day job was in music education, and included concert, marching, and jazz bands at 4 different schools in 33 years, as well as sound reinforcement for my school. These days when people ask what I do after retiring in 2005, I tell them that I play trumpet and walk my dogs. I play in 2 concert bands, a German Band that works year-round, the occasional show, and do solo work at times. I'm lucky to be living in the Northern VA/DC area, where there is a large number of terrific players to hear. I hope all is well with everybody out there! Jim

Re: Hello!

Hello Jim!
I have a few years on you (I'm 66), but thats exactly how I spend my time also! I still teach in my home studio, and play the odd job, but most of my day is spent playing trumpet and entertaining a basset and Labrador.
Welcome to TM!

Re: Hello!

Welcome, Jim! Do you do any of the "Hungry Five" schtick in your German band?
