| Hello Hi everyone, my name is Bruce Morris and I’ve just picked up the trumpet again after not playing since 1972 – probably longer ago than some of you have been around. For a number of years I played with a local Washington DC group called Lawrence and the Arabians and then with a group called the New Breed. We played mostly soul music in the early years and then moved on to a lot of BS&T & Chicago. I also played some shows with the Washington Lite Opera Company and spent a number of evenings playing at Walter Salb’s studio on Flower Avenue in a walk-in big band. I also had the honor of studying with Dr. Reinhardt at his Chestnut St. studio in Philadelphia and still have one of his first “Pivot System” #4 mouthpieces that actually plays and sounds pretty good. It’s been along time since I’ve been active in the local music industry and look forward to getting back into playing shape and meeting others here in the forums and in the DC area. Bruce |
