| Hello to all I'm not new to trumpet playing but I haven't played much in recent years. I'm 61 years old and studied under Donald S. Reinhardt and Gilbert Johnson (Philadelphia) in the 60s. I have three horns: a B-flat King Super 20 dual bore with sterling bell, a Martin C, and a B-flat Selmer cornet. All are old horns, now, and are well worn, as I am. I'm interested in sarting to play more again but, unfortunately, when I start to play it doesn't come out as good as it used to---and the darn valves all stick, despite the oil! |

| Re: Hello to all Welcome amuk (are you an also-ran?) I happen to be an old geez myself and all I can say is a day without trumpet just can't be that good of a day. BTW Gil Johnson was an early hero of mine. I considered him right there with Bud Herseth. I heard him play only once and never had the oppurtunity to meet him. |
