![]() | Hello all I am new to this site and I thought I would drop a line and to say hello and introduce myself. Well my name is Vince but they all call me Chenzo and I have decided to pick up the horn after a 25 year lay off. I have at long last settled down in country Victoria Australia, after many years working and traveling around the the top end of Australia. Now that I am in the one place all the time I have decided to get back into playing my trumpet and making sweet sounding trumpet sounds. Years ago I used to play in a Big Band (the LinKenFielding Big Band ) we were just a bunch of young blowers, with a huge potential but back then in Australia there was no interest in it,as it is still now in Australia any rate. Enough of the past, I am really enjoying blowing my horn and getting the best sound I can. It can get a bit frustrating at times as I try to emulate how I was years ago but patience is the key. I now play with The Local Brass Band called Wodonga City Band, and we are off to contest in September only c grade, altho I am not a great believer in contests. At least the band gives me somewhere to play with others. As I am approaching 50 years young I decided to give my self a present and got my self a restored vintage trumpet a King super20 sympathy 1959-60 model which I will cherish to the day i die, I also have an old and well used Bossey and Hawks Sovereign cornet made in England. Check out the pics. I would like to get a Teacher as its been a long time away from the horn and it would be good to freshen up on ideas and get some tips etc, if any one from Aust can help please email me. Enough for now so .....May all the trumpet gods look down and smile upon us all. Cheers Chenzo |

![]() | Re: Hello all Vulgano Brother As I said in my intro I will cherish this instrument till the day I die, I have just got it and playing it to see if it suits me this will take a bit of time and in the event that it doesn't I will probably buy another and this is probably going to be the start of my collection. At any rate what would you be willing to swap. Cheers Chenzo |

![]() | Re: Hello all Hi Chenzo, Welcome from another Aussie...Albury/Wadonga, lovely part of the country. Ask one of the front line cornets in the brass band whether he could get you pointed in the right direction. I'll bet that one of the high school music teachers in that part of the woods teaches on the side, although I don't know of anybody specifically. You've got a great bunch of horns already. The old King looks wonderful and the old B&H Sovereign is THE cornet to have in a brass band, very highly coverted. Don't let anybody talk you into swapping that one!! Have fun. Regards, Trevor |
