![]() | Hello From Allentown P.A. Hi...just want to say you guys are a great source of info ! I am a long time guitar/blues harp/flute /sax guy etc I was at my horn repair guys three months ago and he sold me a old king trumpet for 50 bucks. Well that hooked me. I am a pretty fast learner so I have been really playing everyday quite alot. My lip is sore right now hahahahaha. At any rate when I get into something i really get into it. I still have my 50 dollar King trumpet but I also Bought a Conn siver satin 2b 1929 trumpet in really mint condition. Then I bot a Conn 80a short cornet...now a few days ago I picked up a Connstellation 28a long cornet !!!!! I am a real Conn Man ! I have a vintage alto and tenor and a bari Conn sax ! I am really taken with the different sounds coming from the trumpet and the 2 cornets I have. Of course like with the sax you have to find the right mouthpieces to work the horn etc The Connstellation is tricky...i am trying a bach NY 7 on it and it seems pretty good but the intonation is abit funky compared to the 2b (which I am using a bach 5c ) and the 80A ( using a olds 7c ). I was thinking of trying a Wick 4b on the Connstellation. The conn Loyalist says that with different MPCS you can get a wide range of results ! Well I am glad to be here and have the chance to learn more. As far as playing i think I am getting pretty good...I am playing thru all my 2-5-1 changes and blues in all keys. I think my strength is increasing daily. I am a full time musician so I have alot of time to play play play !!!! Kthrust |
