| I just registered as a member of TrumpetMaster today and am trying to understand all the posting procedures and jargon. The term "thread" has me a little confused since all I am doing with this message is saying an opening "hello" to the membership. So since I didn't see any other way to send my first message, I chose to "post a new thread." Correct me if this is the wrong way to go about what I am doing. I am 72 years old, play a Reynolds cornet, and am the director of the Marco Island Strummers, a quasi community band on Marco Island, Florida. We have 20 members (4 trumpets, 8 banjos), and we play everything from Riverboat style music to marching band material. I am particularly wild about Dixieland music. I would enjoy hearing from other trumpet players in southwest Florida (or from anywhere for that matter). Wes English |

| Re: Hello from Florida Wes, welcome to TM, and yes, you did the right thing to open a new thread and introduce yourself. Thread = a new conversation or topic for discussion. Reply = to add your 2 cents to an open thread. Hope you enjoy the site, and keep Dixieland blazing in Florida! All the Best, Richard Oliver |

| Pianissimo User | Re: Hello from Florida Hi wes. Welcome to Trumpet master. Glad to see all is well with you in southwest. I live in Central Florida, so I'm a bit far from you, but I hope your dixie band is doing well. Wont be able to respond until monday if you respond to this, because I'm out in LA on a studio gig. Good luck and glad to have you :). Jon |
