| Hello from Hong Kong Hi Everyone. Just want to say hello as I have just picked up the trumpet only a few weeks ago after a long long layoff from playing the trombone in my highschool's jazz band in the US almost 20 years ago! I had always wanted to pick up the trumpet back then and I manage to take the plunge two decades later. Well, I suppose better late than never! I picked up a student model yamaha (I think it's called 2335) and I am just building my lip and lung. Not surprisingly I find playing the high notes to be challenging, not just because I haven't blown a horn in 20 years, but also because the mouse piece of the trumpet is that much smaller and I find it to be taking a bit of time to adjust. I will be starting a class in two weeks but I am already finding great fun practising on my own. In any case, I hope to chat with all of you and any tips from you all in helping with my transition would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! Loyeh886 |
