| Hello new friends! This is my first post, having joined just a few minutes ago. My name is Ashley and I live in a small country town called "Geeveston" in southern Tasmania (Australia). That's down-under down-under!! I am 49 years old ... (dreading the big five O I have played professionally for 30 or so years mainly in Defence bands. (RAAF and Army) but also in other private work and teaching. I enjoy arranging and composing on on Finale and lean mainly towards jazz and small ensemble work. Any sort of playing is good!! I play a Schilke X3 (a nice horn) and a Bach 180 model 37G (plays like a dog!) Yamaha Maestro cornet. I have also just purchased, (Ebay today) a Bach Strad C and am really hoping it is better than my other Bach which resides under the bed as a spare! I am really looking foreward to meeting like minded people and sharing experiences and ideas about trumpet playing. |

(that may mean something different where you are from..........) The D word in comparing Bach and Schilke should be "diametrically opposed". Renold Schilke had something different in mind than Vincent Bach did. |
