Hi! Hello, all! I'm a veteran player with a little time on my hands due to a recent injury, so finally I've got some time to cruise all these fun trumpet forums! I've been playing for 25 yrs., and have been a military musician for the last 11. I would like to get into instrument repair when I retire, so I enjoy researching all types of gear. Because of my injury to my right hand, I'll be looking for all sorts of info for physical therapy to get back in shape once the stitches are out! I look forward to getting to know some other members and learning some new stuff!

Re: Hi! I've got the Navy College Fund waiting for me when I retire, so there's well more than I'll need to go back to school, which is great! I've already had a few job offers, too, even without any training - it seems that techs are having a hard time finding apprentices these days. Of coarse, lots of people like to hire retired military - they know you've learned to show up for work (or else!), and that you'll show up sober!

Re: Hi! Apprenticing is the way to go when learning a craft like instrument repair. There are schools that teach it too, but you'll learn better, I think, at someone's elbow. Enjoy, and good luck for a full recovery!
