psalmist7 will become famous soon enough
Hi from new member

Tom Sullivan here (just joining) from the Richmond, VA area. I've been playing trumpet and flugelhorn since about 1970 - nearly 40 years (because I'm old!). I have an older Benge trumpet that has treated me wonderfully and am preparing to buy a flugelhorn (previosuly had a wonderful Yamaha flugel). After 2 bouts of Bells Palsy, one on each side of my face, my range ends about high Bb but still love playing! Looking forward to hearing from the rest of you. Tom

Welcome to TrumpetMaster Tom!

Enjoy your stay.

40 years of playing is pretty good, I've got about 50!

Re: Hi from new member

Tom,
It's great that you are continuing to play in spite of your difficulties. We all have something that we struggle with. In the band where I play there are a couple of players who have limited range. The director simply told them to play down an octave on any notes that they can't reach. So, there's still a place for all of us in making music. And, high Bb is still higher than many of us can play so keep going.
