Hi from sunny Huddersfield in the UK!

Hi everybody!

What a cracking forum!

I joined in the summer this year but haven't had the chance to really say or do very much.

I have been playing trumpet for 45 years, 25 of those professionally. I have done a lot of teaching, mainly of players at an advanced level, but particularly enjoy working with starters and those trying to 'find their own voice'.

Was a British military bandmaster for 8 years; graduated from Kneller Hall in 1984. Wonderful place to train and play, loved every minute.

In the last few years have spent quite a lot of time away from music - haven't picked up my trumpet for about 5 years, haven't conducted in that time either. Presently providing management consultancy, recruitment advice and accountancy services to industry. Have a website at Professional CV and Resume Writing Service, Curriculum Vitae, Cover Letters if anybody needs a CV or Resume.

Just getting back to playing and sorting my chops out - S L O W process; you don't realise how quickly you go downhill!

Currently working on a couple of teaching projects for brass and wind players - watch this space!

Look forward to meeting y'all online!

Yours (in Bb)

Steve

P.S. I play on a Schilke 24 trumpet mouthpiece. Been trying to get a flugel match. John Myatt tried to obtain one from the US - 10 months later I still don't have it. Is anyone Stateside able to help?

Thanks

Welcome to TM, Steve! A Schilke 24? You might want to ask some trombonists!
