Hi Jewels -
I'm not the best either. I joined a symphonic band as part of my comeback attempt. They not only put me at the very end of the trumpet section (12 trumpets in a 100 piece band) - they had me sit outside the door. They didn't just put me on 4th trumpet part, they wrote a '5th trumpet' part for me (all rests! - but at least I am learning to count measures). I'm having fun anyway and I still have hopes that they will let me sit inside the door before this concert season ends. I would say that I have fun practicing but with winter coming, I'm afraid that the woodshed will become quite cold. Luckily, it's heavily lined with carpet on the walls so that will help to keep the frost off of my trumpet.
See? You actually are in pretty good shape. Keep it up.
