Introductions, familiar names

Hi folks,

Just found this forum (yes, really!), but after a few minutes of reading I see lots of familiar names turn up. So I suspect that part of the community here will know me from "elsewhere".

Brief history:
My name is Christine Derksen, born in New York from a Dutch father and an American (Michigan) mother. So half my family lives in Michigan (for the most part), the other half lives in the Netherlands, where I myself live too (we moved here when I was 4 years old).

Main interest of course is the Elkhart Conn company of which I have a website.

I have played the trumpet since I was 11 years, which is almost 27 years ago. Most of my playing was and still is in a (now two) community band.

Equipment: Played a 1964 Conn 15B Director for most of 25 years but my current main instrument is a 1948 22B New York Symphony. The website I have does have an "occupational hazard" of course .... ... about 8 of them, total. One of which is a currently unplayable project horn, one just in from eBay and now in the shop.

I will be putting the avatar I use on the other forums in here too in a few hours, I don't have it here right now.

Regards, Christine

I was once married to a Dutch lady... does that count?

Seriously, welcome to TM. Sincerely hope you find the atmosphere sufficiently pleasing to just jump in and have some fun. It's not all "serious stuff" though.... as you'll see.

Welcome to the forum!

Go Blue!!! I spend a wonderful year in the woods of the lower peninsula for my senior year of high school (when I say go blue, I mean Interlochen light blue, not Michigan Wolverine blue)
