| Re: just saying hey Welcome aboard Rachael ! Like you, I too play the trumpet ,piano and sax. Mostly the sax. I started on the piano at age 4 . I never did warm up to the double reed thing though. I also love to play all by myself when I'm feelin' blue. Beats picking up nasty habits like drugs and alcohol ! |

| Re: just saying hey This is my first post on this website. I'm just saying hello to everyone. I am starting back on the trumpet after a seven year layoff. (Are there any chops left in the house?)I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life as a corporate head but ended up missing music and performing so much that I am back at it. I have had a lot of classical training and then I branched completely into jazz. I am thrilled to be beginning again in music. The best way I can put it is that I felt I had a lot of unfinished 'business' in music and I am ready to start over. Hope I can be of help to others, inspirationally as well as with the mechanics of playing. I think the best way to describe my embouchure right now is to call me rubber chops. But, that won't last for too long. Anyway, I am sincerely happy to be a part of the trumpet community again. |
