Long Time Listener, First Time Caller

Hello, to all you trumpet masters.

My name is Steve Wiliford and I live in the Indianapolis area now. I started out here in Indy as a quasi-legit guy doing opera and ballet orchestras and then went to the darkside and became a commercial type guy. I've been playing long enough that I remember doing the Ice shows and Ringling Bros when they had a cast of thousands. Boy have things changed! After many years of cruise ships, road tours and 10 years in Vegas I'm back in the midwest.
It's kind of funny, but I've come full circle. I'm playing on an older Lawler trumpet with a "real" mouthpiece again trying to figure out how to sound like Uan Rasey. I'll let you know how that turns out.

best wishes to you all, Steve

ps Mr Wise, I particularly enjoy your writings. And if you bump into Frank Greene or Scott Wendholt please tell them hello. They might actually remember me from the bad old days.
