My name is Jason and I play the trumpet.

Looks like I must be on the FIRST page! I grew up in the countryside outside of East Moline, Illinois. I've been playing for twenty-one years, eight of which were spent recently as a musician in the Navy. I am now studying and preparing myself for auditions and upcoming work. I'm also a bicycling enthusiast and I like a good beer now and then. Greetings!

Jason

Manny Laureano has a spectacular aura about
"My name is Jason and I play trumpet."

Hi, Jason.

Why do I feel like I'm at an A.A. meeting?

Welcome to the ranks of the musically addicted, my friend!

Thanks everyone! I like the community feel of the TM. I've spent time on the oTher trumpet sites but for one reason or another I've been hanging out more here.

I'm living in Boulder right now and I'm new to the area. My wife is working on her master's degree at CU. I'm starting to nudge my way into the freelance scene between here and Denver, but it's pretty slow going. I'm also working at Whole Foods and doing lots of skiing and bicycling, and of course I'm in the 'shed for a good portion of the day as well. Living here has been the perfect way to chill out after eight years in the Navy, especially after spending the last three years in Naples, Italy. We couldn't bring ourselves back to the good ole midwest after living a paradiso. I don't think we'll be staying here as I'll eventually want to get myself into a good studio to work on my master's degree and a more vibrant freelance scene.
Thanks again for the hearty welcome and I look forward to getting to know you all a little better.
Sincerely,
Jason Johnson
