Newbie (of course), Hi all

Stumbled here looking for a book!

Need some advice from someone who may have picked thier horn back up after a long time off!

Been leaving her in the case for too long, keep thinkin' I want to pick it up again but I realize how bad my lip is. I haven't played for 10-15 years(played for twenty years) and I want to get my lip in shape. Any recommendations on a good way? Now would be the time to leave any bad habits behind because I would be basically starting over.

Hi to all btw.

Mark

Find a tutor - take some lessons - solve the bad habits early - then gently place the trumpet against your lips and .........

Welcome to TM, enjoy your stay. If you are really going to get back to playing, get a good competant teacher and do everything they tell you.

Re: Newbie (of course), Hi all

Thanks for your comments and suggestions of a tutor, now...to find one!

I have the time, and desire, but I sound like a wounded animal when I play!! Well maybe not that bad--but bad. I looked around yesterday at a recent "comeback" thread, figure I'll look for topics and go from there.

Hello again and thanks for your replies.

Mark

There is an excellent resource online to help you. It is designed specifically for returning players. Some of the contributors are members of this forum. Here is the link to it:
