![]() | Post #1 Hello all, I played first chair throughout grammer and Highschool, and received awards such as the John Phillip Sousa Band award, the Presidentials Award for Musical Excellance, and the Semper Fideles Award for musical excellence. Regretibly, I gave up playing when I made it to college. I had to work my way through school, and since my university would not give me a scholarship for music, I gave it up. The practices interfered too much with work. In hindsight, I would have done things differently, but a young fool knows nothing except the present. Well, it's been a few years, and I want to get myself back up and running. I plan on joining my community band this summer, so this gives me some time to get my chops back in shape. I have two trumpets right now: Besson International, and a LA Horn TR-45 which I got custom painted in black with my name engraved across the bell. LA Sax soesn't make trumpets anymore, but I beleive Vision makes them now... Both my horns I feel are pretty good. I actually get better range on the LA, but crisper tone on the Besson. Well, that's the skinny on me, and I'm glad to be here. |
