![]() | Re-Intoducing Pedal C... Hello All! I used to post here occasionally a year or two ago, but various things (school, sketchy internet access, etc.) kept me away for awhile. So who am I? Last spring I finished my Masters degree at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley Co. I have to admit that my students would occasionally get a little wisdom from Manny and others (disguised as my OWN wisdom, of course...). When I finished the degree, I took some time away from the trumpet, partially to refresh the mind, but also to help deal with some pain and swelling in the chops and give an nagging injury time to heal. Kind of like a pitcher just trying to get through the playoffs before having shoulder surgery, only not as bad! Now I live in New York City, and when I feel ok about my playing again, I'd like to take some lessons, after all, there are plenty of great trumpet players around here! Eventually, I'd like to persue a doctorate and teach at the college level. I discovered while I was a TA that I have as much of a passion for teaching as I do for performing and I found the teaching I did very rewarding. Aside from the trumpet, I like to play golf and watch the Rockies and Broncos. I also love trains and model railroading (not that I have time, money or space for that right now), baseball history, reading and playing darts. This week I'm especially excited to fiddle with my new Ipod! Anyway, I've read the forum enough to recognize lots of you, so it's only fair that you know a bit about me! See you in the forum... Jason.
