| Hi I am a new member and I salute all of you. I am really a jazz clarinet player that in the past two years have selftaught to play the cornet (a Conn 1921 with a large bore). I am interested in Bix beiderbecke and I learnt several of his improvisations transcribing from the records, however I dont manage to do rips (for instance C to A or gliss from slightly lower than E to E. Is there any advice on how to do theser exercises to be able to do it? Now that I play (try to!) the cornet I fell in love with the intrument and I feel happy to have arrived to the point that I can ask these questions. Thank you Jussi Last edited by Jussi : 05-01-2007 at 06:16 PM. Reason: typos |

| Re: Rips and glisses? Jussi, Since this is more of a forum for people to introduce themselves let me suggest that you poke around some of the dedicated forums where you're likely to get more nibbles on your questions. Aside from that, welcome and enjoy the site. ML |
