Ron Turner/Spamalot National Tour

Hi trumpet cats,
I am new here and signed up to check out this site and also post some info here which some of you might encounter someday. I have been playing professionally for 35 years. Most recently I am the touring lead trumpet with the Spamalot National tour. I came down with a mild case of Bells Palsy which only lasted about 4 weeks. I have heard from others that is has taken anywhere from 3 week to a couple of years to recover from. I am 100% and wanted to post my account of what happened. It is a MS word document.
I hope this could help someone if it ever happens to them.
Oh well I guess I cant do that because of the low 19kb allowed for attachments. My doc is 33kb.
Thanks
Ron Turner

Hi Ron,

Welcome to TM. Wow, bells palsy (facial paralysis) must be very scary for a trumpet player, or anyone for that fact. I am glad to hear you have recovered. My girlfirend is an acupuncturist in NYC, and had very much success treating this. Did you use acupuncture in your treatment?

I will pm you my email address. Can you send your file as an attatchmant. I would love to read. I'm sure my girlfriend would too.

Re: Ron Turner/Spamalot National Tour

If your file is a Word document or other, simply cut it in half and post as two halves! Wouldn't be the first time someone had to do that.

Glad you got a recovery; as you say, it can take much, MUCH longer than that and even if there is recovery sometimes the steroids mess things up for years afterwards.
