Today, I found a trumpet!

Hi all,

I'm Tom, from Birmingham (in the UK), and today I found a trumpet while dropping off some old carpet while at the tip.

It's old and was rather dirty and tarnished, so I've started cleaning it, uncovering its logo - "Student Prince"- on the bell. Googling got me to this site, but when I looked at the HM White site that was suggested in this ( http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f148...nfo-37769.html (Military Wife with new trumpet... need info!) ) thread, I noticed that two of the tubes are the opposite way round to all of the other trumpets by that maker, and that there are a few other bits that don't match either, so I'm slightly confused, and was wondering if any of you could help me identify it.

I'll put up some pictures of it tomorrow once it's cleaner, then I'll have to start learning!

Re: Today, I found a trumpet!

Well, tomhasatrumpet - now you have a trumpet. Once it's been cleaned and sanitized, the next thing is to learn how to blow it. Then, you can learn how to play it. Then you will be part of something that can bring a lot of fun and satisfaction to you and to others as well. We're eager to see the pictures. In cas you have difficulty figuring out how to post them here, this is a link to a post that explains it step-by-step (using Photobucket as a hosting site):

(it's in the 5th post on the thread)
