![]() | Uk Trumpeter Well, i have just come across this site and i wish i had found it a long time ago... it looks ace! My name is Selena and i am fast approaching 30yrs old! i started playing the Trumpet when i was 12 to avoid doing PE lessons! and found i liked it and was also good at it too. I started off on a horrid student school rental boosey and hawkes and then once my parents realised it wasnt a fad bought me an old B&M Champion this served me well up untill after my ABRSM Grade 6, then i bought my self a Yamaha 2320E and then once i had out grown this and some how scraped through my ABRSM Grade 8 (almost 10 yrs ago ) i bought a Yamaha 6335HII heavyweight trumpet - i had this as a poster in my bed room for yrs drooling at my 'dream' trumpet which i now own. My Trumpet is still a great love of my life but my time is now occupied by my son and my husband so practice time is rare but i still play at a band once weekly and its a great social. I worry that music is taking a back seat in schools and there are fewer and fewer kids taking up brass instruments to give way for popular drums and guitar. i hope brass will survive but i know bands are struggling. Anyway enough of my waffle.. I look forward to chatting to you all. Merry Chrimbo and a happy new yr! Selena |

![]() | Re: Uk Trumpeter Hi Selena, Keep up the good effort to practice with the ever growing added responsibilities. Hope you can also go out and see some gigs by many fine UK trumpeters. We got to keep music live as well as promote it among the young. Tiny
