sbmackie will become famous soon enough
Well, I guess I'm supposed to do this...

Hello,
Returning to the trumpet fold after a roughly 7 year hiatus. Just found a Yammie 8310z. Kept my Bach flugel.

Background: Univ of Florida '82 BA Mus Ed. Gary Langford studio. Standard stuff: marching, basketball band (that was a hoot), wind ensemble, jazz bands, rennaisance ensemble (zinc and sackbutt, men in tights). Madison Scouts '80'82 (mellophone and staff). Never very good until after I graduated and started actually THINKING about what I was doing. Toured with AF Tops in Blue entertainment showcase in '85, then community big bands and concert bands.

Have time now to return to the fold. Bobby Shew lives in town; just had a quick "direction finding" session with him. Yes I am gloating. But, Albuquerque is easy to get to, and he is a VERY good teacher (works mostly on your head and equipment and vs labor) and he is relatively inexpensive for the level of player/clinician he is. Plus he's just a good guy. So go to his web site, contact him, and come enjoy a cold cervesa and some green chile stew.

Cheers
Scott

G'day Scott - the Green Chillie Stew sounds like it might remove the enamel from your teeth and the plating from your horn - welcome to TM though.
