![]() | Where y'at? I'm a full-time RV'er travelling around looking for jazz-friendly places. They are few and far between so I plan to head back to New Orleans after Xmas. Right now I'm in New Mexico, contemplating that long drive through Texas but not sure which route to take. But I'm open to gigs/jam sessions etc on my way east and would love to hear from Texas musicianers who might be able to use a good second trumpet player who doubles on trombone and sax. |

![]() | Re: Where y'at? Welcome. I'd invite you to swing by, but I'm not in Texas, and I think Derbyshire might be a bit out of your way!

![]() | Re: Where y'at? I don't really know what I'm doing or where I'm going anyway so Derbyshire could be a "swingin'' possibility, as could Nottingham, where I know I can get a drummer and piano who used to live in N.O., pre-Katrina. |

That quote sounds like a great old swing tune... "I'm Looking For A Guy Who Plays Alto And Baritone And Doubles On A Clarinet And Wears A Size 37 Suit" Remember THAT one? -cw-

![]() | Re: Where y'at? Yes, that's a great old tune and I've sure missed it out here in the west. Our big hit out here is "How Can I Miss You if You don't Go Away?" It's a western swing tune featuring 6 fiddles who each double on alto kazoos. Now you know why I"m gonna follow the risin' sun. |
