![]() | Health Insurance Hi Tony, The obvious question... if I'm going to try to make it as a trumpeter without a steady day gig, what's the best way to go about getting health insurance? I checked with the union here and they don't really offer anything. I'm on my family's plan now, but I won't be a full time student after this semester, so I need to find something by next September. Thanks, Jimi |

| Re: Health Insurance I'm on Blue Cross Blue Shield. They have a bunch of different plans for single people and the rates aren't that bad. |

| Re: Health Insurance Hi Jimi - This is a tough area, because everyone is in a different place on this. I only know that I have fairly mediocre insurance through our union, but it did save my butt when I had my appendix removed a few years back. I also have no dental, but plan on shopping around soon. I guess just making calls and getting quotes is the best way to become informed. Good luck - Tony |

| Re: Health Insurance As long as you are young and healthy and don't need it you can probably BUY insurance. Hopefully, with the next administration we'll get some action on a universal health care program. Blue Cross, Kaiser etc. will sell it to you. Make some calls. |

![]() | Re: Health Insurance Thanks for the advice, all. I think I'll probably end up getting a cheap plan to cover major surgery, etc. (But in the mean time, the marriage for health insurance thing doesn't sound so bad. Time to go hang out at the law school...) Thanks, Jimi |
