![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Looking for a new C tpt. I've had it with my current C trumpet and am now in the market for a new one. (It's been so long since I've tried any - just looking for options.) This will not be used on a daily basis so I would like something that's reasonably easy to just pick up and play. I generally do not have too much luck with Bachs, but am open to trying anything really. And if anyone is selling, please PM me. Thanks - Tony |

![]() | Re: Looking for a new C tpt. I haven't been a C player in a long time. An obvious choice would be Yamaha and, yes, Wayne is right there in NYC to help. I played the Sonare (with Cliff Balckburn's input) and it is very good. Schilke's are very friendly to Bb players, the intonation issues aren't as pronounced and there lot's of models to choose from. Another obvious inquiry, since you are (the last I knew) using a Hub van Laar Bb would be a Hub. I'd give Bob Findley a call. You also have NYTC right there. |

![]() | Re: Looking for a new C tpt. Hey, Tony - I can't say enough about my Yamaha Chicago C. I'm using it right now on a local run of "Les Miz," and it really feels and sounds super. It slots better and projects beautifully and I love the sound and playability. I'd highly recommend trying one. BTW, I have a couple Bachs, too (including their "Chicago" model), but I go back to the Yammie every time. I do about 60% legit work, but I also have a New York Yamaha Bb which seems to do well in most situations. But the Chicago C is a cut above, IMHO. Good luck! Chas Reskin |

![]() | Re: Looking for a new C tpt. I think the older (Xeno?) Yamaha Cs are pretty user friendly when you're not playing much C trumpet. I don't get along with the newer artist models, at least not in brief trials, but maybe you'll have better luck. Somehow, I think whichever one you pick, you'll sound pretty darn good! :)

![]() | Re: Looking for a new C tpt. I'm not an expert by any means but I reckon that the easiest of the Bachs to pick up and play for a Bb player are the reverse leadpipe configurations or one of the Malone conversions (if you can find one). Something with a longer lead pipe than the standard C configuration. I also like the Schilkes for the same reason....don't like the sound though. ![]() | Re: Looking for a new C tpt. Hi Tony, How about the Stomvi Forte C? MJ mentioned Stomvi earlier. I grabbed a Bb a while back. The quality is great, as you already know. Pete
