The Producers Hi Tony-- I saw the video recording session of the "Producers." Interesting recording. Orchestra (and YOU) sounded great up until the moment when Brooks asked to go into overtime? I think I heard a few groans in the Orchestra. Who were the members of the trumpet section other than Greene? Do you know a player the name of "Brian O'Flahert?" If so, do you know what horn he's using? Best of luck; John Morillas

Hi John - I never did see the the PBS special, but I do remember the rec. session a bit. "The Producers" normally has 3 tpts., but because they do the entire cast album in one day (9-12, 1-4, 2-5, 8-11), they used 4 trumpets. The regular lead player couldn't do the recording, so I split lead with Brian O'Flaherty. The other tpts. were Nick Marchionne & Frank Greene. I don't remember Mel asking about overtime, but if he did, I bet it was a joke. I believe Brian was playing a Bach 37 (?), but he also sometimes plays an old Benge (3X, I think). Thanks - Tony

I visited the musical of The Producers last week in London with a few Eclipse Artists after visiting Eclipse. I enjoyed it very much, great script, great english humor and a great band with Noel Langley playing lead. I can recommend it to everyone.
