Question for Mr. Kadleck

Yo, my man....you're AWESOME.....Fo' Shizzle.

How many trumpets and mouthpieces do you play in a week? DO you always use the same one or do you change up? And, how do you decide? I read you play a lot of different things....not like my idol, Mr. Michael Sachs. Do you go so far as to have different valve oils for different types of musac?

Thanks for being here to answer our questions.....Fo' Shizzle!

Love,
Huggy

Re: Question for Mr. Kadleck

Mr. Bear -

Currently only playing one horn (Van Laar B2) and two mouthpieces (Bach 5B & Monette B5LM). Mostly play the Monette, but use the Bach when I try to do my cheap imitation of Mr. Sachs. (It doesn't always go well.)

Al Cass across the board.

Much love -

TK

TMers, let's collect some money to buy for Toni a second horn and at least dozen of mouthpieces, so he can make some fancier answers...Different oils for different music? wow, that's new! Seems that HB had discovered a dubba C valve oil Don't keep it for you only, share with all TMers which oil make us sound like M. Sachs and which is for Maynard stuff

Uniquetrumpet will become famous soon enough
Re: Question for Mr. Kadleck

I have always heard Tony uses a thicker oil only when he has upper register work.......it increases resistance and makes the upper register easier.

The thicker oil has destroyed all his other horns........ that is why he only has one left.

Re: Question for Mr. Kadleck

Naw, the thicker oil is for the LOW register. The high register (you know, tuning note C to G on top of the staff) is much easier with less resistance.

I also heard that keeping the oil in a fancy case will help your high register too.:)
