![]() | TK on youtube. Nice video. With the camera work it appears as though there were a 8.2 earthquake in the building. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: TK on youtube. Wow. That was a few years back. Rob McConnell brought his 10-piece book to NY (the concert was at SUNY Purchase) and trombonist Jim Pugh put together the band. Hard to go wrong playing with greats like Pugh, Bob Millikan, Tim Ries, Ted Nash, etc... Rob's music has always been challenging. I'm not sure what was going on with the camera, or who recorded it! ![]() | Re: TK on youtube. Tony, Great playing man! When the picture shaked I had to close my eyes- I almost barfed! Funny though, it really made me focus in on your solo. Which brings me to a quick question. When you improv, are you thinking about the changes, patterns, listening, all of the above? I'm having a real tough time. Thanks, -Andrew |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: TK on youtube. bnbtrpt - Thanks. Playing downstream is about as uncool looking as it gets, but it's all I've got! BergeronWannabe - When I am playing I'm first & foremost listening, and certainly also paying attention to the changes. I always tell players to start simple: roots and thirds, add fifths and sevenths. If you can do that (IN TIME) on every chord change, you'll be well on your way to getting the song in your ears. At that point, you can start improvising. In the begining, less is more. Don't try to do too much at once. Tony |
