| Re: Tony Awards Hi Garry - I was there with Lew Soloff, John Frosk (his 40th year playing the show!) and Glenn Drewes. Dominic Derasse was also there playing for his own show, "110 in the Shade". It was fun, but very long. 8:30AM until 11PM. Ouch. |

| Re: Tony Awards Tony- Thanks for the info. The production numbers were great. Are there any shows currently on Broadway that are using full sized orchestras? I've heard that the "minimums" thing has kept the pits VERY small. I'm glad that they used a full sized orchestra for the awards show. Garry |

I had the chance to meet John Frosk in about 1980-82 when he was playing for Chorus Line. He was a very nice person. Last I heard he was playing for Chicago -- is he still there? | |

| Re: Tony Awards There are very few large orchestras on broadway. The largest may be "Beauty & the Beast" (25 players), which is closing next month. It will be replaced with a show having an orchestra with a maximum of 18 players. Sad. It is nice that they still use a big band for the "Tony's". Hopefully it will stay that way. Yes, Johnny is still at "Chicago". He's an incredible trumpet player with tons of stories of the old days. A fun guy to have around! The trumpets: ![]() |
