Re: Big Bust

It's (the sleazy ad) not "TRUMPET" related.

Well, technically... when you get to the castle and become the "lord" there are a few trumpet fanfares that....

Rowuk, I've worked at ad agencies, and studied art.

I'm in the commercial printing business, and I would never compare what is seen in museums or on public beaches to sex in advertising.

One is appreciation, the museum, another is recreation, the beach, the last is exploitation, .......exploitation.
Bachstul,
I do not consider this ad to be exploitation, or offensive in any way - except maybe with its use of the word "lord". That ad is commercial. The model earned money for it and crossed no moral borders. An anorexic, blonde Barbie doll is disgusting.

The disguss(t)ion(!) about limits of advertising are interesting, and unfortunately out of our hands. I often think about where is the real problem. The human body is truly glorious in form and function.

Sex sells because our interpretation of the human body is warped. I think less shame could decrease the amount of "problems". The more we try and limit things, the more fascinating it becomes to those feeling that they are missing something. There are limits generally decided on by society. Many beaches in Europe are topless, and no problems for those that choose not to participate. I do not see kids giggling at the sight, it is a more normal "healthy" approach. An eyeful in real life takes the need for under the covers stuff away. I can only recommend jumping on the bandwagon. If not, no problem. Please consider that the lowest common denominator is never a solution however.

Talcito, your gigs have the audiences laying on their sides? I am jealous!
I did have a cool (hot) gig last year though. Symphony meets Sauna at a 5 star sauna. The audience did 20 minute sauna, 30 minute break/cooldown. We played in tuxes during the breaks. I felt like a penguin on the equator! I am not sure who was exploited that night.

I never meant "exploitation", like it was taboo...
I am thankful almost everyday of the beauty that surounds us; to be clear, I wish to be understood. It seems the ad is gone, and I can surf Trumpetmaster at work in comfort again, (while I tend to one or three computer automated machines, of course).

To know the truth about me....Alicia Silverstone is promoting a new healthy eating book, and in an interview she acknowledged she likes to work in her garden naked in the hot sun, then swim in her pool, nude. After the interview people were welcome to chime in on-line, and I did....

I posted that I look forward to buying her book. I suggested other material products for her vegan fashion line, and commented how I would enjoy helping her work in her garden on those hot days.

I won't ever be judged a hypocrite!!! But, still. images don't belong in some places like TM, or the fashion sales flyers always packed in our Sunday morning paper full of women in sexy underwear.
