screamingmorris has a spectacular aura about
Links problem

A minor problem I have always experienced at Trumpet Master:

Example:
The home page gives a link to a 3-page thread regarding "whatever".

When I click the link on the home page, it automatically takes me to page 1 of that thread rather than the latest page of that thread, so I am then forced to click "page 3" after I arrive in the thread.

Another famous trumpet site which shall remain nameless (its initials are TH) will automatically take you to the latest page of a thread.

Can Trumpet Master fix that minor problem?

BTW, Trumpet Master has a better Classified section because it allows the poster to add photos to its ads while that other trumpet site has no such ability.

Re: Links problem

Morris,
I click on the last poster in the forum overview and that takes me to the end of the thread.
Alternately, in the individual forums there is a (1, 2, 3,... Last Page) where you can click on the numbet and it will take you there.
You can also change the sorting for the forums by going into usercp then edit options, then Thread Display Options. Here you select linear newest first and you always get the newests posts at the top. This is like most E'mail programs last in first out. Don't forget to save the changes first.

I tried the edit thread display options change 3 times and saved the changes and I logged out and then logged back in, too, in order to clear old settings but it still takes me to the first page of a thread instead of to the latest page of a thread.
I guess I'm doing something wrong.

Update:
I now realize that the edit change *did* work, just not in the manner I expected.
It is now showing all of the posts in reverse order, even within a single page, which is very awkward reading.
So I'll change the edit option back to the way it was.

I wish this site would simply take me to a thread's latest page with the posts in chronological order the way it happens in the TH site.

Re: Links problem

Try clicking on "New Posts," then clicking on that little blue box with the two ">>" thingies on it. Works for us Vulgani.
