A new idea

Hello,

A while back, I started a thread about playing lead and what liberties we could take as a lead player.

I wanted to start another thread about the same thing but this time I would post the music I was talking about. I couldn't upload the music to the site so I gave up.

I still want to do this idea. We could pick a big band chart. (if you want the one I was going to use, I can email it. It's in my computer as a PDF) and talk about how to play it. Since everybody is looking at the same chart, we can reference measure numbers.

Maybe we could do this with a concerto. How great would it be if we could get Ed to post his copy of a concerto and explain what his notes on the page are?

Wilmer could post a page from West Side Story and tell us why he had to play the notes this way or that way or why it was so important to play as written.

You get the idea.

Thanks,
Joe

Re: A new idea

Joe, good idea...

How about taking a picture of the chart and post it that way.

That's what I do.

Re: A new idea

I scanned it but there are size limitations.
If I make it too small we won't be able to read it.
I'm not very good with photo shop.

Sibelius scorch is a good tool to use if it can be embedded in to the forum coding.

This whole idea might end up with copyright issues though.

Re: A new idea

If there is a copyright issue, we could cut some of the part out so it's not playable or just post a section that we want to talk about.

You could upload your picture on Photobucket or a similar host
and post it as a link here.

How to do it?
