| New Friend | Re: Daily Practice Routine Hi, I do an hour a day.(Just to keep up with the immense players at college). I'll always start with a few minutes of mouthpiece buzzing, and then move onto playing long notes and slow flexibilities for about 15minutes. I'll then do all my boring work, such as technical excercises from my arban or arturo sandoval book. Such things; as dexerty, scalelic and articualtion exercises. Noramlly for about half hour. For the last 15-20 minutes i'll either have a blow through of some pieces. Or if im not feeling lazy i'll focus closely on how i can develope my sound and interpretation of a new piece. All this is failry new to me, i've only been doing it for the past 4 months. But mate is it working wonders.! Cheerz m8, In a bizzle. |

| Re: Daily Practice Routine sorry for the delay. I missed this post. When I have time... hmm, it all depends on how my chops are feeling. If they are cool and I have been hitting hard the days before, I will launch into working on music that I need to memorize or etudes that I have been meaning to shed or writing or playing along with some recording I have been wanting to learn from. If I haven't been playing gigs alot (which has been the case the past few months) I tend to practice in very paced fashion. Slowly building my endurance by playing and resting, doing expanding long tones, Adam and Caruso type routines, playing with drones, etc... then I add the things from above, often focusing on good sound, intonation and a relaxed feeling while doing it all. I tend to play a lot of piano when I have time off, not ever getting good enough to play live but having fun doing it. |
