Geoffry Keezer Ingred, I am a real fan of Geoff Keezer. I first heard him play on Art Farmer's project Soul Eyes, a live album. I recently bought Geoff's album Falling Up which you play on. Is there a Keezer - Farmer - Jensen connection?

Re: Geoffry Keezer Hi Tom, I'll have to pick that one up. Great band on the album. If you haven't already checked out some of Christian McBride's albums with Geoff Keezer, Live at Tonic, Vertical Vision, and Sci-Fi. Also Geoff released an incredible live trio album Wildcrafted: Live at the Dakota, with Matt Clohesy (bass) & Terreon Gully (drums). It was recorded live in Minneapolis, in 2004. Check out Stompin' at the Savoy

Re: Geoffry Keezer Sort of- I met Geoff at Berklee, and then saw him along the way with both Arts (Blakey too) and we always seemed to keep in touch. I was intimidated playing with him at first but in some ways, I think that the encouragement that Art Farmer gave me helped me to realize that I needed a certain set of ears to support where I need to go in the music. Keezer is the ultimate dream player/friend/ collaborator, etc as our relationship is based on the music and alot of trust and communication on many levels. We talk a lot about basically everything there is to discuss in life, from politics to trumpet sounds to recipes to whatever. By the way Tom, Falling Up is one of my all-time favorite Cds and it definitely inspired my direction on At Sea, as did Geoffrey ...

Re: Geoffry Keezer I first heard Geoff with Art Farmer about 1992. I was completely knocked out, and during the break Art couldn't speak highly enough about him. He said, and I remember well, that Geoff didn't repeat himself;Art said that even after he'd been with him for months he never heard him repeat himself. I've loved his playing ever since, and I try to see him whenever he comes through town with anyone. Am I imagining things, or did I see you, Ingrid, in a band with Geoff on some video on BET Jazz a while back? He might have been playing a fender rhodes. Michael McLaughlin

Re: Geoffry Keezer I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Geoff perform with Ingrid several times. I also have an Art Farmer recording, “The Meaning of Art” with Geoff where he is performing with Slide Hampton, Ron Blake, Kenny Davis, and Carl Allen. Geoff can really compose, too. On this recording he wrote, “Free Verse.” I had also suspected that there could have been an Art Farmer connection there and was also curious. Thanks for the post. Janell
