| Mezzo Forte User | TrumpetNick is Jamming with...his CD player :-))) I AM NOT A JAZZ PRO. Just messing around with Aebersold and some other accompaniment tracks, some licks and written impros of my former jazz improvisation teacher Mike Hall (RNCM, Saxophone). I will wait for your comments (not only Ingrid's) but don't be too harsh. I am an orchestral player, that's what I do most of my time, and that's where I really know what I am doing. As I said, I am just messing around, while trying not to get lost in all these chords and scales Songs by Nikolay Iliev, Citizen of ACIDplanet.com Last edited by trumpetnick : 04-15-2008 at 03:22 PM. | Re: TrumpetNick is Jamming with...his CD player :-))) I only listened to the Preacher, and it's Horace Silver (not Horas). Anyway, at least you've got guts to post clips- good job! I don't think I'm good enough to do that...not yet. Nice solo, was it written? The only thing I can say is that very much like me, it's alot of playing. I need to learn to put in more space (rests). I think the ideas will be more fluid that way. Again, well done. -Andrew |

| New Friend | Re: TrumpetNick is Jamming with...his CD player :-))) Sounds like you're off to a great start. Although this seems to be suggested to every person asking for advice, it really is the best prescription...listen to a lot of jazz and play a long, trying to copy articulations, vibrato, phrasing, etc. of artists that you dig the most. keep playin |
