TrumpetNick is Jamming with...his CD player :-)))

I AM NOT A JAZZ PRO. Just messing around with Aebersold and some other accompaniment tracks, some licks and written impros of my former jazz improvisation teacher Mike Hall (RNCM, Saxophone). I will wait for your comments (not only Ingrid's) but don't be too harsh. I am an orchestral player, that's what I do most of my time, and that's where I really know what I am doing. As I said, I am just messing around, while trying not to get lost in all these chords and scales

BergeronWannabe will become famous soon enough
Re: TrumpetNick is Jamming with...his CD player :-)))

I only listened to the Preacher, and it's Horace Silver (not Horas).
Anyway, at least you've got guts to post clips- good job! I don't
think I'm good enough to do that...not yet.
Nice solo, was it written? The only thing I can say is that very much
like me, it's alot of playing. I need to learn to put in more space (rests). I think the ideas will be more fluid that way.
Again, well done.

The Spelling was corrected. Normally I don't do such errors but that can happen when I don't double check. Good point with the rests. The first 2 choruses are written by my former jazz teacher Mike Hall (saxophone ), the last is written by me (well a saxophone player would obviously not write a lip trill . I tried to break the constant line with these crochet rests at the end of the solo, but probably that wasn't enough

Sounds like you're off to a great start.
Although this seems to be suggested to every person asking for advice, it really is the best prescription...listen to a lot of jazz and play a long, trying to copy articulations, vibrato, phrasing, etc. of artists that you dig the most.

keep playin
